1. Purpose

This Contributor Code of Conduct ensures that all contributors—researchers, editors, volunteers, and community members—uphold PakPedia’s standards of accuracy, neutrality, and integrity. The goal is to create a reliable civic knowledge platform that serves the public without bias or misinformation.

2. Core Expectations

All contributors must follow these foundational principles:

2.1 Accuracy

Use only verified, reliable, and authoritative sources. Interpretations must remain faithful to the controlling legal text.

2.2 Neutrality

Content must be free from political influence, personal opinions, or advocacy.

2.3 Respect

Treat all contributors, reviewers, and users with professionalism. Offensive behavior, discrimination, or harassment is not tolerated.

2.4 Transparency

Disclose conflicts of interest and provide clear citations for all content edits.

2.5 Accountability

Contributors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their submissions.

3. Contributor Responsibilities

3.1 Use Verified Sources

  • Prioritize primary sources such as laws, gazettes, and court judgments.
  • Secondary and tertiary sources may be used only for support or clarity.

3.2 Provide Clear Citations

Every edit must include citations that allow users to trace content back to the issuing authority.

3.3 Maintain Neutral Tone

Avoid political bias, promotional language, personal commentary, or ideological framing.

3.4 Preserve Context

Legal material must not be altered in a way that changes its meaning or applicability.

3.5 Respect Privacy

No personal data of private individuals may be shared or implied unless it is legally public information.

4. Prohibited Conduct

Contributors may not:

  • Publish false or misleading information
  • Insert political, partisan, or ideological influence
  • Promote businesses, organizations, or individuals
  • Harass, insult, or attack other contributors
  • Upload copyrighted material without permission
  • Manipulate civic or geographic data for any purpose
  • Attempt to override or dispute controlling legal sources

Violations may result in content removal, restricted access, or permanent suspension.

5. Conflict of Interest

Contributors must disclose if they:

  • Are affiliated with an organization related to the content
  • Have a political or commercial interest in the material
  • Have been involved in drafting a law, policy, or administrative decision being documented

Undisclosed conflicts may lead to contributor removal.

6. Review & Approval Process

All contributions undergo:

  1. Editorial Screening – initial check for structure and formatting
  2. Source Verification – confirmation of accuracy
  3. Neutrality Review – assessment for tone and objectivity
  4. Compliance Check – alignment with PakPedia’s policies

Contributors must cooperate during clarification or fact-verification requests.

7. Enforcement

PakPedia may enforce this policy through:

  • Removal of content
  • Temporary suspension from contributions
  • Permanent revocation of contributor privileges
  • Reporting serious violations to relevant authorities (in extreme cases)

Enforcement actions are documented internally to ensure fairness and consistency.

8. Appeals

Contributors may appeal a decision by emailing: [email protected]

Appeals are reviewed by PakPedia’s editorial oversight team, with a final decision shared within a reasonable timeframe.
